Amonra was founded by Gary Waldrom, a technologist and polymath whose curiosity and wide-ranging knowledge shaped the early direction of the company.
Gary had a strong instinct for emerging technologies, often exploring platforms long before they became widely adopted.

 This led Amonra to work with open source databases and infrastructure at an early stage, establishing a depth of expertise that continues today.

From the beginning, Amonra focused on practical engineering, supporting organisations running complex infrastructure and database platforms where reliability matters.

Alongside this, Kathryn (Kya) Waldrom worked with Gary in the background, supporting the operational side of the business and helping guide its growth and direction over time.

Today, Amonra brings together a team of highly experienced consultants working across infrastructure, databases and modern technologies, including cloud and AI. This breadth of expertise allows us to support complex environments where multiple systems must operate reliably together.

The company’s technical direction is led by Technical Director Ray Brennan, whose experience across Linux infrastructure, database platforms, high availability systems and cloud environments continues to shape Amonra’s approach to building stable, scalable systems. Working closely with Kya, the business continues to evolve in line with both technical and commercial direction.
