Amonra was formed in 1998 out of the consultancy division of Sphinx Level V and was the idea of founder Gary Waldrom. An office was set up in Bridlesmith Gate in the heart of Nottingham and acted as a hub for other small technology oriented companies.
Its initial existence was primarily as a vehicle for new technological ideas and practices but found itself in great Demand for its core competencies of delivering high quality professional services through its network of partners and the focus of the business reacted to this overwhelming requirement by the channel community.
In 1999 Amonra relocated to larger offices in Fenay Bridge, Huddersfield and expanded the head count including a general office manager and our own sales & marketing.
By the early 2000's Amonra was involved in the delivery of some major projects to large corporations and institutions through its client base and had become a trusted partner of many IT organisations including independent software vendors, system integrators and resellers alike.
The primary technology focus of the organisation was based around the Oracle product set, SQL Server and UNIX/Linux platforms and to a degree still is to this day.
The company has expanded its Oracle skill set adding significant strength to the middleware tiers along with extending its database capabilities both within RDBMS and NoSQL
Apart from our significant skill set in SQL Server, Dynamics, & Sharepoint the core competencies of the organisation are and always have been *nix based solutions.
However to remain vendor agnostic is important to us and Microsoft based technologies are fully covered enabling Amonra consultants to advise on the vendor benefits of competing solutions without bias or other commercial reasons.
Since 2010 we have expanded the company investing in skills and a proof of concept stack to enable greater efficiencies in preparing and evaluating technologies.
Amonra are well positioned for future expansion within the Cloud & NoSQL territory as well as other Open Source based technologies, However our roots are still very prevalent and the majority of our business still comes through the traditional Oracle & SQL Server channels.
